Dr Brett graduated from Murdoch University in 2002, having worked throughout his studies as a jackaroo on pastoral stations in northern Western Australia. He grew up on a beef farm in Gidgegannup, which shaped his strong connection to mixed practice veterinary work.
With 24 years of experience, Brett has worked in a variety of mixed practice clinics across Western Australia and South Australia. He also spent a year working for a pharmaceutical company producing rattlesnake and pit viper antivenom. His primary professional interest is surgery, where he enjoys the technical challenge of “taking things apart and putting them back together again.”
Dr Brett has been part of the GEOvet team for 14 years.
Outside of work, Brett enjoys swimming, running, mountain biking and reading. He also spends time on carpentry and metalwork projects, alongside the daily responsibilities of living on a small horse property. He lives with his wife, Paisley, and their poodle, Percy.
