Euthanasia — compassionate guidance for a difficult time
We understand this is one of the hardest decisions you will face as a pet owner.
Our team is here to support you with care, privacy, and compassion.
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is a deeply personal experience. GEOvet offers a range of options to ensure your final time together is as peaceful and private as possible — for both you and your animal.
In-Clinic Euthanasia
Our Busselton and Capel clinics offer dedicated comfort rooms, thoughtfully designed to provide a quiet, private, and supportive space for you and your beloved pet during your final moments together.
These rooms include a direct, discreet exit, allowing you to leave the clinic privately and without unnecessary distress during this very emotional time.
Home Euthanasia
In some circumstances, we may be able to arrange a home euthanasia. Please note this option is more costly than an in-clinic euthanasia, as it includes travel time and the attendance of both a veterinarian and a veterinary nurse.
Availability
Due to clinic and emergency commitments, home visits are not always possible. When this occurs, we can usually arrange a quiet appointment at the clinic, providing a calm and private environment for you and your pet.
Caring for Your Pet’s Remains
We offer the following aftercare options.
Our team is happy to discuss these options with you and provide guidance.
Individual Cremation
Your pet’s ashes are returned to you in a container of your choice, depending on the provider you choose and their available options.
Communal (Bulk) Cremation
Your pet is cremated with others, and ashes are intermingled.
Grieving the Loss of Your Pet
Grieving the loss of a pet is a natural and deeply personal experience. It is okay to feel upset, emotional, or overwhelmed — our team understands. Try not to feel guilt or blame. You cared for your pet and made decisions with love and compassion. Remember the happy moments you shared and allow yourself time to grieve.
