Urgent Care

After Hours & Emergency care

Our Busselton clinic’s standard opening hours are 8:00am – 5:30pm. Outside of these hours, we provide on-call emergency care to support animals when urgent treatment is needed.

When an emergency occurs after hours, both an on-call veterinarian and an on-call nurse are required to leave their homes—often in the middle of the night—to return to the clinic. This may mean being called away from rest, sleep, and family time at very short notice. Our team must then open the clinic, prepare equipment and medications, and ensure the facility is fully operational to safely treat your animal.

Emergencies do not follow a schedule. They can occur at any hour, and when they do, our team rallies—often for a single patient—to provide immediate and critical care.

After-hours emergency services incur penalty rates for staffing, as well as additional operational costs. These costs are not shared across multiple appointments, which is why emergency and on-call fees are higher than standard consultation fees.

We appreciate your understanding of these costs. Your support allows us to continue offering emergency services and ensures our dedicated team can provide safe, high-quality care when it is needed most.
